We hope you are all well. Further to our release on the 02nd February, based on the information provided by the MOH and the COVID19-Protection Framework in regards to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic, the board has regretfully decided to cancel the Junior club nationals due to take place in the April School Holidays 21, 22, 23, 24 April 2022, Action Waitakere, Auckland.

Again, the INNZ Board is incredibly disappointed to have to cancel this event. INNZ’s priority is the health of its players and staff, so please stay safe and look after each other.

The INNZ board met last night to discuss the Government announcement on the 23 January moving New Zealand into the red traffic light system and the impact this has of running our national tournaments. Based on the information provided by the MOH and the COVID19-Protection Framework we have regretfully decided that the INNZ Club Senior Nationals cannot go ahead in Wellington on the 25-27 March 2022. The board realises that this event is the highlight of our INNZ domestic calendar and we are extremely disappointed to not be able to run our national tournament for the second year in a row.

We will make an announcement on the 01st of March on whether we are able to proceed with the Junior club nationals due to take place in the April School Holidays 21, 22, 23, 24 April 2022, Action Waitakere, Auckland.

Again, the INNZ Board is incredibly disappointed to have to cancel this event. INNZ’s priority is the health of its players and staff, so please stay safe and look after each other.

Tena koutou katoa tumanako kei te ora koutou

The INNZ board met last week to discuss the upcoming events in the INNZ Calendar. As you are all aware the current outbreak of the COVID19 delta strain has closed all the centres in Auckland and has reduced the number of games played at other centres throughout the country. With this in mind and based on the latest information provided to us by the government we have decided to make the following changes:

TRI-SERIES - postponed to Labour weekend 2022. Venue TBA

JUNIOR NATIONALS – Postponed to April School Holidays 21, 22, 23, 24 April 2022, Action Waitakere, Auckland

SENIOR NATIONALS – Postponed to 25, 26, 27 March 2022, Hutt Indoor Sports, Wellington

INNZ will only host tournaments if all regions in the country are able to attend in accordance with the government guidelines applied at the time. If any of the above tournaments are cancelled entry fees will be refunded by INNZ.

INNZ will not accept liability for any losses that may be incurred for travel and accommodation to any of the events. Please be careful to check the COVID19 refund policy before making any bookings with your travel or accommodation providers.

INNZ’s priority is the health of all its players and staff, so please stay safe and look after each other.

The Government announced this afternoon that Auckland will move from COVID-19 Alert Level 3 to Level 2 from 6:00am 07 March with the possibility of a move to Level 1 next weekend. The INNZ board met this afternoon and based on this information have regretfully decided that the INNZ Club Nationals cannot go ahead in Auckland on the 19-21 March 2021. INNZ had surveyed the traveling teams earlier in week to find out how much time they needed to cancel flights and accommodation with the lowest possible impact on cost. Unfortunately waiting another week was not a viable option. The board realises that this event is the highlight of our INNZ domestic calendar and lot of people will be very disappointed. While we recognise that everyone in New Zealand and in particular Auckland has been hit hard by these latest events, it is our hope that players will continue to support your local centres by playing in-house and the remainder of the Super League season. An email will be sent to all the clubs with a cancellation letter for teams to use for flight refunds/credits etc. All entry fees will be refunded to the clubs for distribution to the teams.

Again, the INNZ Board is incredibly disappointed to have to cancel this event. INNZ’s priority is the health of its players and staff, so please stay safe and look after each other.

    News Release 02/03/2021

The INNZ board met this morning to discuss the upcoming running of Netball Nationals in the current Covid environment. Prior to this meeting the board surveyed most of the clubs outside the Auckland region, and some within, to see if they were still comfortable coming to the national tournament if the alert levels were to reduce in time. After considering their responses the INNZ board has made the following decisions.
    • The government will announce at 4pm this Friday of any change in the alert levels and the INNZ board will meet shortly after this to make a decision on the status of the tournament.
    • INNZ affirmed that the tournament can only be run at level 1.
    • We estimate at this time there is roughly a 50% chance that we may have to cancel the tournament.
    • INNZ will refund any teams that wish to withdraw from the tournament before our next announcement on Friday the 5th and if the tournament is cancelled all teams will receive a full refund of entry fees paid.
    • Unfortunately postponement is not an option.

Stay safe and look after each other.
